Who Is Lily Collins' New Fianc, Film Director Charlie McDowell?
This past Friday, actress Lily Collins announced her engagement to Charlie McDowell on Instagram. The pictures showed the couple in several outdoor settings and a close-up of the ring, a rose-cut diamond.
"The purest joy I’ve ever felt..." the Mirror Mirror actress added in the caption of another photo showcasing her cheeky smile. McDowell re-shared the same image to his Instagram page with the caption, "In a time of uncertainty and darkness you have illuminated my life. I will forever cherish my adventure with you."
Some of her friends, famous and not, left sweet comments in the comment section. "Congrats!!!! 💕💕" Ashley Tisdale wrote. "Soooo happy for you! Love you Li Li boo! What a special day 💍💃🏽" wrote Ciara.

The couple sparked dating rumors in July 2019 after being spotted together in Los Angeles. In August 2019, Collins confirmed their relationship by posting a picture to her Instagram of herself with McDowell in Paris, France.
Collins has become a household name thanks to films such as The Blind Side, To The Bone and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. But who is Charlie McDowell?
McDowell is a writer/director that comes from a famous family. His father is Golden Globe-nominated actor Malcolm McDowell and his mom is Academy award-winning actress Mary Steenburgen. In addition, his stepdad is Ted Danson, who is an acting legend well known for his roles on Cheers and, more recently, The Good Place.
The 37-year-old is best known for his comedic Twitter account, as well as his work on films like The One I Love and The Discovery. He's also directed episodes of Silicon Valley, Dear White People, Legion, and On Becoming a God in Central Florida. He owns his own production company, Cloudbreak Productions.
Prior to dating Collins, McDowell was in a relationship with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. The couple called it quits in February 2019.
Collins and McDowell have yet to announce when they will be getting married.
